Vedlikeholdsarbeid på A. Revolds Fresko «Fiske og Jordbruk», Festgalleriets østvegg, Oslo Rådhus

Abstract

Rådhuset i Oslo ble oppført etter tegninger av arkitektene Arnstein Arneberg og Magnus Poulsson i løpet av 1930-årene, og åpnet 1950. Rådhushallen og de tre galleriene i andre etasje er utsmykket med omfattende muralmalerier utført av datidens anerkjente norske kunstnere: Alf Rolfsen, Axel Revold, Per Krogh og Åge Storstein. På oppdrag fra Oslo kommune /Rådhusets forvaltningstjeneste behandlet NIKU de nederste partiene av muralmaleriene av Aksel Revold pga. mekaniske skader. Disse partiene ble rengjort, kittet og retusjert.

The City Hall in Oslo was built according to drawings by the architects Arnstein Arneberg and Magnus Poulsson during the 1930s and opened in 1950. The City Hall and the three galleries on the second floor are decorated with extensive murals by renowned Norwegian artists of the time: Alf Rolfsen, Axel Revold, Per Krogh and Åge Storstein. On behalf of Oslo Municipality / City Hall's administrative service, NIKU treated the lower parts of the murals by Aksel Revold due to mechanical damage. These parts were cleaned, a crack was patched up and these and small other parts were retouched
